New iPad Pro and iMac with M1 will be available on May 21, British retailer reveals

The global chip crisis continues to collapse, and Apple has long been rumored to be affected in the production of its new devices. Example: the new iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 and the new iMac with M1, which the company announced at last week’s spring event, go up for pre-order later than new devices usually do after an Apple event.

And in a move that is very uncharacteristic of it, Apple has not actually revealed an official release date for any of these three products. Luckily, a British third-party dealer, John Lewis, stepped up to the apartment and gave us the date we were expecting.

As you can see from the screenshot above, the new iPad pros (and the new iMac with M1) will be available on May 21st. It’s a Friday, so it makes sense – Apple loves Friday launches. It’s pretty far from the pre-order launch date of April 30, but as we said above, you can probably blame the global chip shortage for that. Also if you want a new iPad or iMac and can not find one in stock for a while.
