Apple announced its new wireless AirPods Pro 2 earlier this month and went on sale yesterday as it began receiving its first firmware update.

According for the companyThe new firmware comes with build number 5A377, and the release notes indicate that it comes with bug fixes and very important “other improvements,” but it is not specified what bugs are fixed and what is improved with this new update.

Firmware updates are usually delivered on AirPods when they’re charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and there’s no standard way to install updates manually, so you’ll have to wait for the update to reach your device.

However, if you don’t know which firmware your AirPods have, make sure your iPhone/iPad is running the latest OS version, open the Settings app, and head to Bluetooth > AirPods. Now click on the “More Information” button denoted by the letter “i” and scroll down to the “About” section to find the firmware version.

On a Mac, Option-click the Apple logo, and from the menu select “System Information.” Now click on “Bluetooth” and look under the AirPods for the firmware version.
