The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G is official (in fact this time), and the connection to it is the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, which arrives in Wi-Fi and LTE flavors. The FE model gets 5G connection instead.

This one falls somewhere between the Tab S7 + (12.4 ”TOTAL, 120 Hz) and the Tab S7 (11.0” LCD, 120 Hz). It has a 12.4 ”LCD with 2,560 x 1,600 px (16:10), even though it only runs at 60 Hz. At least it comes with Android 11 with One UI 3.1 out of the box.

Speaking of the box, inside you will find an included S-pen, which you can use for noting and drawing. A user interface also supports DeX mode, so you can have a desktop-like experience – Book Cover Keyboard can be handy for this, but so can any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

In any case, the S7 FE is powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 750G instead of the S865 chipset from the other two slates. The basic configuration is 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, which is also a 6/128 GB model. Either way, you can expand the storage by up to 1 TB extra using the microSD connector.

The tablet has a 10,090 mAh battery that matches the S7 + and supports fast charging up to 45W. But you have to supply your own charger, you only get a 15W adapter in the box. If you get a 45W charger, 0-100% takes 90 minutes. In any case, the battery can withstand 12 hours of browsing via Wi-Fi or 4G (5G is probably more power hungry).

The tablet has 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS (no NFC). The USB-C port is connected to 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, but you can use the tablet’s AKG stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

The tablet has an 8 MP camera on the back with autofocus and 4K / 30 fps video recording. There is no ultra-wide cam on the back of this model. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera (fixed focus) that can track your face during a video call to ensure you are always in the center.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is only available in Wi-Fi and 4G flavors. In either case, you are looking at a tablet that is both smaller and cheaper than the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020).

Lite has an 8.7 ”LCD with 1,340 x 800 px resolution (15: 9). The back is made of metal, but the slate is still quite light at 366 g and measures 8.0 mm thick (note that the LTE version is a few grams heavier).

This model is powered by a Helio P22T chipset (MT8768T), which has eight Cortex-A53 cores and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The base configuration has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, but you can get a 4/64GB device if it feels too cramped. In both cases, the slate supports microSD cards up to 1 TB.

The tablet has a 5,100 mAh battery. It can be charged via USB-C at 15W, even if you do not get one included in the box. Also note that the USB-C port is only connected to 2.0 speeds so you do not see the screen (so no DeX mode).

Both the Wi-Fi and 4G versions of the Tab A7 Lite have Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS (again, no NFC). Although not AKG-branded, the slate also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. And this one has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 8 MP camera on the back has autofocus, but the chipset cannot keep up with 4K, so it peaks at 1080p / 30 fps. The forward-facing camera has 2 MP resolution (fixed focus), but should still be good enough for video calling.
