Samsung Galaxy Buds2 leak through FCC, buds and case pictured

Samsung Galaxy Buds2, which are reportedly in mass production as we speak, have just passed the FCC test and further confirm that they are ready for store shelves.

The FCC list gives us a full glimpse of the knobs themselves as well as a detailed look at case specifications. Despite coming in as a replacement for the Galaxy Buds / Buds + line of TWS earbuds, the Galaxy Buds2 looks more like the Galaxy Buds Pro with their pear-shaped outer shell and lack of wingtips.

They appear to have two microphones – an internal and external – an IR sensor for wear detection (so they can pause music when you take them out), and apparently no external ventilation, like the one on the Galaxy Buds Pro. This suggests the lack of active noise reduction, but reliable tipster Ice universe, Bud2 will offer ANC.

The case itself (EP-QR177) seems to share the charging specifications of the Galaxy Buds Pro ‘case with 2.5W rated charge (5v * 500mA). Schematic of the case makes it look the same as the Galaxy Buds Pro.

Back to Ice-universe tweets = Galaxy Buds2 want better sound and still have ANC. Whether they have better sound than Galaxy Buds + or Galaxy Buds Pro, it’s still to be seen, but better is better, whichever it is.

There is a chance that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Buds2 in July along with the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 or in August in line with the Galaxy Buds tradition.
