Samsung’s 120Hz LTPO OLED panels for iPhone 13 Pro series are in production
Samsung has been the main supplier of Apple iPhone screens for some time, and thanks to the technological advances of the Korean technology giant in the field, it was able to secure an order of around 80 million units again. Or in other words, the expected 120Hz LTPO OLED panels for iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will likely all be provided by Samsung.
It seems that the fast and energy efficient LPTO OLEDs only come for the advanced iPhone 13 models. LG and BOE fill the rest of the order on iPhone 13 and 13 mini OLED screens. LG Display is estimated to ship around 30 million devices.
But since the iPhone 12 family will not be disconnected anytime soon, the need for standard OLED panels will not go away. By the end of this year, Samsung will ship 120 million OLED screens, LG Display will secure 50 million panels, while BOE will deliver the last 9 million.
Industry sources also point out that production of OLED panels this year started about a month earlier, confirming previous reports that the iPhone 13 will return to its usual launch in September.
