Last week, Xiaomi announced that it will drop support for the MIUI Gallery sync feature with Xiaomi Cloud. The company also revealed that it will allow users to migrate their media to Google Photos in 2023.

Just a few days later, the smartphone maker has now revealed that Google Photos will be integrated with MIUI Gallery starting next week, and Xiaomi says it is integrating Google Photos backup functionality into MIUI Gallery.

The integration will be activated with a new version of the application. The update will be rolled out via the Xiaomi GetApps store. It will be made available for the first time in Singapore from October 24.

Existing Xiaomi Cloud users will be able to migrate their media to Google Photos. Also, they will be offered a 3-month trial for a Google One membership (100 GB).

Xiaomi Cloud offers only 5GB of free storage, and its family plan is limited to China. On the other hand, Google provides 15GB of free storage space.

Plus, with a Google One membership, users can not only expand storage, but also add up to 5 family members.
