Information has spread that Samsung will design a custom chipset for it with the 2025 Galaxy S-series flagship Galaxy S25 series, and while the Exynos chipset may seem to fit this description, it is not actually intended for the S-series, as Samsung sells some of its chips internal to other smartphone manufacturers such as Motorola and vivo.
Galaxy S25 series processor leaks
indicate rumors A new South Korean publication from trusted leakers Inews24 and IceUniverse suggests that Samsung officials aren’t happy with the backlash on the Galaxy S22 series’ GOS, as well as insufficient yields and poor thermal management of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 chipsets.
Accordingly, a new approach similar to what Apple is doing with its A-series chipset with the end goal of better performance-optimized hardware is being discussed.
Older Exynos chipsets before 2020 used Samsung dedicated CPU cores, although Samsung shut down its dedicated CPU core division in December of 2019.
It remains to be seen if the new chipsets for the Galaxy S25 series will be part of the Exynos line or if Samsung will start over with something new.
