Apple pauses the advertisement of gambling apps on App Store

Recently, Apple increased ad space in its App Store in pursuit of greater advertising revenue, but it backfired in more ways than one. There was a public outcry soon after when some of these ad spots were bought by gaming services.

This puts some sensitive users who are trying to fight gambling addiction in a difficult spot, or at least that is the main argument that users are united on on the Internet. In response, Apple issued a statement that they are pausing the advertising of such apps.

However, Apple’s decision does not sound very permanent. It has not clarified how long this pause will last and whether it will eventually allow gambling ads under new rules.
