Apple A16 processor crushes Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and achieves impressive performance results on Geekbench

Recently, Qualcomm announced its new flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is the most powerful processor that the company has launched so far, and it seems that it can still be outperformed by the Apple A16 processor that runs with the iPhone 14 Pro series.

According to the latest listing on benchmarking platform GeekBench, and before the new Qualcomm processor will run on any Android phone. The Apple A16 processor of the iPhone 14 Pro model has outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Synthetic benchmarks revealed that the Snapdragon processor scored 1483 points in the single-core test and 4709 points in the multi-core test. While the A16 processor scored 1874 points in the single-core test and 5372 points in the multi-core test.

So it’s clear that the new processor giant from Apple is still ahead of Android processors. Interestingly, the latest generation A15 Bionic chipset, managed to score 1709 points in the single-core tests, which is also higher than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Notably, Qualcomm confirmed that the developments will be “a new benchmark for connected computing, intelligently designed using leading-edge AI across the board to enable extraordinary experiences.” And higher raw performance wasn’t the only new thing about the new 8 Gen 2 chipset. And you should know that benchmarks don’t always reflect a better user experience or real-world performance. But this goes to show how Apple’s chips, even older models, are still quite capable in today’s market.
