Xiaomi recently announced a long-term contract with Germany’s Leica, one of China’s leading electronics and smart device manufacturers, to produce high-quality cameras and lenses for a new smartphone.
Although the name of the smartphone that will be launched has not been revealed, expectations are for the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra. According to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station via website (WeiboIn China, the new Xiaomi 12 Ultra phone could come in two different designs, one in black with a polished leather cover and the other in white with a ceramic glass on the back.
As for ceramic glass, this is not the first time that the company will use ceramic in its phones. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra that was launched last year also came with a ceramic design.
The highlight of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be its camera module, and Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica is sure to take the device’s camera to a new level.

The smartphone has a unique “Oreo” camera module design, and will house at least 3 cameras. It will likely have a main camera of 200 megapixels, an ultra-wide-angle camera, and a macro camera.

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed any details regarding the upcoming smartphone. However, it is likely to launch the device by the end of next June.
