Xiaomi MIUI 14 interface: the most prominent features that the Xiao AI virtual assistant brings in the update
Yesterday, Xiaomi revealed the new MIUI 14 interface at the Xiaomi 13 series launch event in China. The latest version of the company’s mobile interface arrives with a number of features among which is the Xiao AI 6.0 feature.
Xiao AI is Xiaomi’s virtual assistant. The company’s virtual assistant with the latest MIUI upgrade brings some useful features and improvements, here’s a look at them.
Useful features and improvements introduced by Xiao AI in MIUI 14
Since Google has no presence in China, smartphone brands in China rely on self-developed AI assistants.

Xiaomi introduced the Xiao AI virtual assistant in 2018. Since then, the company has regularly updated it with features inspired by world-famous assistants like Google Assistant, Apple Siri, and Amazon Alexa.
The new interface MIUI 14 that was introduced yesterday brings an advantage Xiao AI 6.0The latest version of the AI software now runs natively on phones and tablets.
Xiao AI virtual assistant 6.0 offers the following features:
- suggestions
- Voice control
- Vision
- Translator
- Contact
Xiao AI virtual assistant suggestions are similar to Siri suggestions and Google Assistant suggestions. The feature offers users suggestions throughout the day based on their usage scenarios.

The virtual assistant can Xiao AI Suggest a number of things like reminders, home automation controls, travel related actions, and others.
As for the “Xiao AI Voice” feature, it is for standard voice control. While the “Xiao AI Vision” and “Xiao AI Translator” translation features are alternatives to the Google Lens and Google Translate features.
The calling feature “Xiao AI Call” is a feature borrowed from the Google Pixel Call Assistant that was first introduced in 2019. This feature aims for call screening, real-time translation, multiple Chinese dialects, and more.
Unfortunately, the Xiao AI 6.0 feature will not be available in global markets with the MIUI 14 update. Instead, phones and tablets sold by Xiaomi use the Google Voice Assistant outside of China, and some devices even come with Amazon Alexa.
It should be noted that almost all the features of the Xiao AI virtual assistant can be experienced outside of China via Google services, the only thing missing is the “Xiao AI Call” feature.
