Apple announced the Apple M2 processor, the successor to the M1, the first custom-built ARM-based computer processor unveiled in November 2020.

Designed Apple M2 . processor New on the second generation 5nm architecture, compared to the M1, the eight-core CPU provides 18% better performance.
Apple says the speed in performance is due to performance cores that are faster and paired with a larger cache, while efficiency cores have also been “dramatically optimized for greater performance gains”.
Compared to the Intel Core i7-1255U in the Samsung Galaxy Book2 360, the new Apple M2 processor delivers “almost twice the performance at the same power level,” and delivers the highest performance of an Intel chip while using only a quarter of the power that Apple is proud of.
Compared to the 12-core Intel Core i7-1260P processor in the MSI Prestige 14Evo, the M2 “provides nearly 90% of peak performance” while using only a quarter of the power.
The GPU cores appear to be the same, but slightly more efficient than the M1, as the M2 with 10 cores can deliver 25% better performance than the M1’s 8-core GPU at the same power draw.
Apple says this GPU is 2.3 times faster at the same power level, matching its peak performance at a fifth of the power.

The 16-core Neural Engine is 40% faster than the M1, it can process up to 15.8 trillion operations per second, and you get 50% more memory bandwidth, when talking about memory, the M2 supports up to 24GB of memory LPDDR5 random access.
The chipset contains more than 20 billion transistors (25% more than the M1), and supports 6K external displays, as well as ProRes encoding and decoding, 8K H.264, and HEVC video.
