Poco C50 announced in India with 5,000mAh battery, Android 12 Go Edition
The Poco C50 has just gone official in India, and it will go on sale on January 10 in royal blue and country green. Previously announced as the Redmi A1+, the Poco C50 is built around a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with 720x1600px resolution, refreshing at a standard 60Hz.
The Poco C50 runs Android 12 (Go Edition) with a layer of MIUI for POCO on top. It uses a MediaTek Helio A22 12nm chipset with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable through the microSD card slot.
The Poco C50 promises great endurance thanks to a 5,000 mAh battery, although it charges rather slowly at 10W.
There are two cameras on the back, one is a depth sensor while the other is an 8MP f/2.0 wide-angle camera. There is also a fingerprint scanner on this side. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera.
The Poco C50 has a leather-like texture on the rear panel. The phone is splash-proof thanks to a special coating.
A couple of models are live on Flipkart – the 2/32GB one is nominally INR 6,499 but will launch at a special introductory price of INR 6,249, and a 3/32GB version that is INR 7,299 but will launch at INR 6,999. The first sale is on January 10.
