List of Samsung phones that will get Android updates for four years
Samsung confirmed in April 2020 that it will support some flagship and mid-range devices with three major OS updates. This means that Samsung phones in these categories will receive three Android system updates after launch with all the features that come with the new Android version.
Very few Android phone manufacturers provide three years of OS upgrades. Like most, Samsung previously only offered two major Android upgrades for all devices. So when I made this firm commitment in 2020, it meant that supported Samsung phones would experience new features and capabilities in the third year after launch as well.
Samsung is now committed to offering four Android OS upgrades for select devices. Customers who purchase these supported devices now can keep their phones for four years without worrying about losing new features.
