Samsung Galaxy S23 series breaks pre-order records in India
Last week, Samsung announced its brand new Galaxy S23 series and despite the price hike, the company secured around 140,000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours in India. That’s about double the Galaxy S22 pre-orders from last year, showing strong demand for premium devices in the country, and perhaps Samsung’s pre-order offers and goodies tipped the scale in its favor.
The Samsung spokesperson did not disclose the distribution of the pre-order. The average selling price of a Galaxy S23 member is around INR 99,000 ($1,200), so that would generate $169 million in revenue.
Samsung recently opened a large manufacturing facility in India – the largest in the country, in fact – and the Galaxy S23 series sold in the country is assembled there.
