Weekly poll: Poco X5 and X5 Pro – hot or not?

0 9

Poco refreshed its X series this week and launched two models this time – vanilla and Pro. The latter got a chipset much more befitting of its Pro moniker along with a higher quality screen and a main image sensor.

Poco X5 Pro is the slimmest phone in the series at 7.9mm. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 778G and will launch globally at $300/€300 for a 6/128GB unit, $250/€250 if you manage to catch the early bird offer.

The Poco X5 sticks with the Snapdragon 695 chip used in the X4 Pro and downgrades the camera from 108MP to 48MP. As we mentioned, the new Pro will use the IMX890 sensor (replacing the IMX766 from last year’s Pro) and have a 10-bit screen with Dolby Vision.

The vanilla X5 gets none of these things, but it costs less – the same 6/128GB memory configuration is $250/€250 (or $200/€200 with the early bird deal). Both the X5 and X5 Pro were launched in several countries earlier this week.

We should note that the Poco X5 Pro will launch in India well with an MSRP of ₹23,000 (and a promise of discounts), the first sale will be on Monday, February 13. However, the vanilla Poco X5 is not coming.
