The Poco C55 has arrived in India – you can watch Xiaomi unveil the new entry level model below (the event starts at noon). The phone was first teased last week, and a few more tidbits were published afterwards.
The faux leather back with decorative stitching is heavily highlighted in the promo images, giving the C55 a more premium look. Being a C-series model, this one won’t have a premium price though. The exact number will be announced live on stage, the C55 will be sold in partnership with Flipkart.

Xiaomi has been mum on the hardware details, sharing only vague information like the phone’s unnamed chipset that scored over 260,000 points on AnTuTu and claimed that the C55 will be the fastest phone in its segment.
Anyway, as a sneak peek, you might want to have a look at the Redmi 12C, there is speculation that the Poco C55 is based on that very model (with the addition of a more advanced back, of course).
The Poco C50 was announced in January with a Helio A22 running Android 12 Go Edition and a starting price of ₹6,500 (actually a little less initially due to a launch discount). The C50 has a leather-like texture on the back, but without stitching.
