Our vivo X90 Pro video review is up

After partnering with lens maker Zeiss, vivo has produced some of the most impressive mobile cameras on the market, and the vivo X90 Pro is one of its best to date. It’s a bit of a shame that the Pro+ model won’t make it to the global market, but the X90 Pro is highly competitive with current flagship smartphone cameras in its own right.

A large part of our video review is dedicated to the camera – with good reason, the 1” 50MP main sensor and the 50MP 2x portrait camera with extra bright aperture are nothing short of exemplary. Even the 12MP ultra-wide module is worthy of praise.

Incidentally, this is the first time we have tested the new Dimensity 9200, and we are impressed – the chipset leaves Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 in the dust. It’s not quite as fast as the 8 Gen 2, but we never felt short on power. Of course, it got the help of the vivo V2 ISP to produce the excellent camera results.

Vivo also noticeably improved battery life compared to last year’s X80 Pro, which wasn’t bad, but not impressive either. One step back that we don’t love is the new screen – last year’s model had a QHD+ LTPO panel, this one has a 1,260 x 2,800px panel with only 120Hz and 60Hz modes. A longer lens wouldn’t have hurt either.
