Black Shark 6 series’ specs tipped, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC at the helm
Xiaomi’s Black Shark unveiled the Black Shark 5 series in China last March, and we expect the company to announce the Black Shark 6 series around the same time this year. There is no word yet from Black Shark on the Black Shark 6 series, but thanks to a reliable tipster Digital Chat Stationdo we now have a fair idea of what Black Shark’s 2023 flagships will offer.
According to DCS, the Black Shark 6 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and pack a flat 2K display with a centered hole for the selfie camera. The primary camera on the back will use the 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, which can be connected by ultra-wide and macro/telephoto macro units.
DCS says the Black Shark 6 series will have two speakers and come with the “strongest active cooling” for sustained performance. It will have a metal frame with a ceramic body texture and the whole package will be a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W charging.
It’s unclear how many smartphones the Black Shark 6 series will consist of, but if last year’s launch is anything to go by, we’ll see a vanilla model alongside RS and Pro versions in China, where the regular and Pro variants making their global debut a few months later.
