Samsung Galaxy S23 could finally bring a higher-res selfie camera

Launched in 2019, the Samsung Galaxy S10 came with a 10MP selfie shooter – an upgrade over the S9’s 8MP front-facing camera. However, this selfie camera has remained unchanged on smartphones in the S21 and S22 series (except the Ultra models). But a new report claims that may change next year as Samsung is considering going with 12MP devices.

Words come from Dutch publishing GalaxyClub, which claims that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 + could have 12MP selfie cameras. However, it is unclear whether these will be placed inside holes or under the screen. We also do not know if OIS will come to the front cameras.

What’s also unclear is whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s selfie camera will get a megapixel bump from 40MP on the S22 Ultra, or whether it will remain the same.

There is still a lot of time for the launch of the Galaxy S23 series, so expect to hear more about the selection in the coming months.
