Kuo: Apple MR headset delayed due to software bugs
Ming-Chi Kuo shared his latest update on the Apple MR headset, and the bad news is that the device is likely to be delayed to launch alongside the iPhone 15 series in September. Kuo explains that the headset is facing software issues and that the likelihood of a potential spring release is dwindling. There are no details on the nature of said software issues, but it seems that the rumored WWDC launch is unlikely at this point.
China’s Luxshare ICT is expected to be the leading manufacturing partner for the Apple MR headset with mass production in the first half of this year. Based on the latest rumors, Apple might launch its MR headset as Reality Pro. The device will likely run its own xrOS operating system and could cost as much as $3,000, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Kuo also shared some preliminary details for the second-generation Apple MR headset, set to debut in 2025. It will reportedly come in two versions — a more affordable one made by Foxconn and a high-end model, which in turn will be manufactured by Luxshare .
