Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the company is ready to launch the first phone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
According to his post on the Chinese “Weibo” website, the name of the upcoming phone has not been determined, but all possibilities refer to the flagship Xiaomi 12 Ultra phone that recently appeared in several leaks that revealed to us its design and some live images.
Recently, Xiaomi also announced its partnership with German camera manufacturer Leica, which will manufacture the camera of the upcoming flagship phone.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun mentioned in his post on the Chinese website Weibo that the phone, which will be powered by a processor Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (codename 8475) will debut in July. It will offer a huge leap in performance and power consumption, and the phone is expected to be the long-awaited Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Qualcomm launched its new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor last month. The processor is manufactured according to TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process which delivers 10% faster CPU and GPU performance compared to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
Since the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be launched next month and the exact date is still a mystery, it is not yet clear if this phone will be the first device powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Many other phone manufacturers such as OnePlus, Motorola, Asus, Iko, and Realme are also planning to launch flagship phones in the next two months.
