Xiaomi and Realme confirm upcoming SD 7+ Gen 2 phones, tipster suggests another chip is on the way

Qualcomm just announced its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset for upper mid-range phones, and now Xiaomi and Realme have confirmed that their first phones are set to use the latest SoC. The official Weibo pages of both brands confirmed that their upcoming devices will be the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and the Realme GT Neo5 SE.

In addition, tipster Yogesh Brar revealed that the Poco F5 will also launch soon with the SD7+ Gen2 chip. Qualcomm is also rumored to launch another mid-range chipset with the Snapdragon 685, and we’re getting information that it might debut on the Redmi Note 12 4G.

Xiaomi has scheduled a launch date for the Redmi Note 12 series on March 23, where we might see the new Redmi Note 12 Turbo model powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The phone is rumored to launch with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate as well as a 50MP main camera and a 5,500 mAh battery with 67W charging.

The Realme GT Neo5 SE is expected to launch with an AMOLED with a 144Hz refresh rate, 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP auxiliary module. The phone will start with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and will launch Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0 on top. Based on rumours, the GT Neo 5 SE was supposed to be launched sometime in April.
