Ice Universe: the iPhone 15 Pro Max will set a new benchmark for thin bezels
Is Ice universe Obsessed with frame thickness? Yes, but we don’t mind – The Cat reports that the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will set a new record in that regard.
The black border around the screen on the new flagship will measure just 1.55mm, down from 2.17mm on the current iPhone 14 Pro Max. The current record is held by the Xiaomi 13 with a thickness of 1.81 mm. In comparison, the Galaxy 22 and S23 bezels are around 1.95mm.
The glass panels of the iPhone 15 series were shown on video a few weeks ago. The person handling the panels reported that the bezels on the Pro models are thinner than those on the vanilla phone (but that’s relative, so maybe the vanilla phones get slimmer bezels too).

The Pro Max model won’t be alone, CAD renderings also show thinner bezels on the smaller iPhone 15 Pro. The two phones will use the so-called “Dynamic Island” design with a centered pill-shaped hole.
We’ve also seen CAD renders for the vanilla iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. They will also switch to the Dynamic Island design, but the ProMotion will remain exclusive to the professionals ie. the vanilla models will still have 60Hz displays.
One big change is coming to all iPhone 15 models – the USB-C port. That and more later this year.
