Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold4 get astrophoto mode with new Expert RAW update
Samsung has updated its Expert RAW app, bringing Astrophoto mode to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold4. It allows the phones’ users to take long-exposure pictures of stars and constellations, but the quality of the pictures depends on how clear the sky is and the amount of pollution you have in your area.

Astrophoto mode is available for the Galaxy Z Fold4 and the Galaxy S21 trio with version 2.0.09.1 of Expert RAW, which can be downloaded from Samsung’s Galaxy Store. However, S21 series users must first install the April 2023 security update to use Astrophoto mode. And if they haven’t received the update yet, they can check for it manually by navigating to their phones Settings > Software update menu.

Other smartphones eligible for Astrophoto mode – first introduced on the Galaxy S22 series – include the Galaxy S20 series, the Galaxy Note20 series and Galaxy Fold devices excluding the original model.
