Mi 11 is neither Pro nor Ultra. Nor is it a flagship killer, there are other units in the company’s ever-growing barn that cover that niche much better. Mi 11 is the ‘vanilla’ model in the family, but looking at it that way does not really do it justice. At least we think so when we’ve been using it for a long time for this long – term review.
Spoiler alarm: it’s more (read: better) than you might expect, and it surprised us positively while we were using it. But we can not deny that in terms of price, it sits in a strange middle ground, sandwiched between flagship killers and top-of-the-line premium units.
On paper, it does not seem to have much to do with an obvious flagship killer, especially one from Xiaomi’s list, but if you make the comparison the other way around, it also does not seem to miss many things that are higher prices brothers bring to the table despite a significant price difference in both directions.
It’s such a very exciting, Mi 11, and we were curious to see what it would be like to live with this seemingly confusing package of one device day in and day out. So we did just that, and in short, we think you are ignoring this at your own risk, as they say. In theory, it does not appear that it would really appeal to anyone, but we would bet that in fact it can actually easily appeal to most people with some very special exceptions, which we will cover in detail in our conclusion.
Until then, though, there is a lot to explore and a lot to share about our experience of using the Mi 11 as our only smartphone for this long-term review, so get excited and let’s get started.
