The phone is equipped with 8 or 12 GB of random memory with an internal storage space of 256 or 512 GB of UFS 3.1 type. It does not support the installation of an external storage chip. The phone runs Android 12 with the Xiaomi MiUI 13 interface.

The other two cameras carry a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor… The Ultrawide camera comes with a wide angle of 128 degrees and offers autofocus and macro shooting capability. The third lens is a periscopic telephoto lens with 5 times optical zoom and an optical stabilizer. There is a fourth secondary three-dimensional lens to measure depth. Leica brings its imaging expertise to the phone in terms of optical and software design. The lens in front of the primary sensor addresses issues such as flare, chromatic aberration, and ghosting, among other techniques. In terms of software, there are two imaging modes, the first provides natural images, and the other uses artificial intelligence to beautify the images and make them more impressive for the user.

In terms of video shooting, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is the first Android phone to support Dolby Vision HDR recording. 4K clips can be shot at 60 frames per second.
