Samsung Galaxy S flagship phones may give up this feature forever!

Samsung has been trying to maintain its position in the processor market against industry leaders such as Qualcomm for many years. Its main strategy has been to release two versions of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S phones with two different processors.

Exynos-powered models were sold primarily in Europe, while US customers got Qualcomm-powered models. This caused a lot of complaints because the Exynos processor does not perform as well as the Qualcomm processors.

Previous reports said that the company will take a long time and will not power the Galaxy S23 with the Exynos processor, and it seems that the new Samsung Galaxy S phones will never get the company’s own processor.

Why are Samsung Galaxy S phones launched in two versions?

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed that there will be no Samsung Galaxy S phones with Exynos processors in the future. It is possible that it will supply Exynos processors to other classes of its phones.

The reason for Samsung’s use of the processor strategy in the Samsung Galaxy S phones is that the US market still needs to support CDMA networks that are not supported by Exynos processors.

Exynos processors perform well in CPU and GPU testing but are very poor in radio performance compared to Qualcomm’s processor. Devices powered by a Qualcomm processor can use the network more efficiently. They can also take advantage of the advanced network features currently relevant to the US (MIMO, LTE-U, LAA/LWA, etc.).

The analyst said that Samsung can no longer ignore reality. He wrote in a tweet on Twitter: “The Galaxy S23 phones may not work with the Exynos 2300 processor, with a 4nm manufacturing accuracy, produced by Samsung, because it cannot compete with the SM8550 in all aspects.” However, Samsung’s exit from this field will allow Qualcomm to dominate the phone processor market.
