Kuo: demand for the iPhone 14 series in China is expected to be stronger

Apple suppliers expect increased demand for the iPhone 14 series in China, reports analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo offers a potential explanation – Apple gets the best out of Huawei’s forced exit from the 5G market. This left Apple as the dominant player in the high-end market in China with little competition.

Back in January, the Vanilla iPhone 13 was the best-selling individual model in China, just as it was in October and December. It alone sold 2.3 million units of Apple a total of 5.1 million for the month, and the iPhone 13 series has generally been quite successful – more successful than previous iterations, which would make the stronger demand for the iPhone 14 even more impressive.

China has no shortage of native brands offering premium 5G phones, including Honor, which has taken over Huawei’s old market positions. However, it seems that none of the local (or foreign) companies have managed to position themselves as the leading premium brand in the way Huawei did in the past, and Apple does now.
