Was anyone worried when they heard the word ‘beige’ as the color name for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4? Very few people will say that beige is their favorite color, but the actual shade will look quite nice, especially when paired with a gold hinge and trim. Here’s a preview from Evan Blass, who released renders of three of the four colorways for the Z Fold model.
After beige, let’s look at the faithful Phantom Black color. Well, maybe “Phantom Black”, maybe it will get a different name – it looks darker. Not much else has changed since the Z Fold3 days. The aspect ratio of the cover screen has been reined in, the internal screen has also changed (according to rumors, it is 23:9 and 12:10 for the new model vs. 24.5:9 and 11.2:10 for the old one, respectively). The hinge has reportedly been redesigned to make the fold smaller.
Moving on, we suspect this is the “grey green” colorway. Digital images can be deceptive for such subtle nuances, but “green” is not the first color that pops into our minds when we look at these images. The “Phantom Green” on the old model was also quite dark and muted, but at least it was a recognizable green.
The leaked list of SKUs mentioned a fourth colorway, Burgundy Red. Unfortunately, it wasn’t part of this leak (it might be a region, carrier, or site exclusive). It’s a shame as it sounded like the most interesting colour. The Z Fold3 launched with a beautiful monochrome palette, and the Galaxy Z Fold4 “grey green” option leans heavily towards “grey”.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, it will also come in four colors and they will be more vibrant than the Fold’s. We’ve already seen renders showing all four, but Blass shared images showing the phone from new angles. So for completeness, here they are:
The Samsung Unpacked event for the Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4, as well as new wearables (Galaxy Watch5 series and new Galaxy Pro buds) is scheduled for August 10, less than two weeks away.
