MIUI 13 is coming in August, possibly alongside the Mi Mix 4
Xiaomi is already working on MIUI 13 and it will be ready for announcement in August. The information comes from a senior Xiaomi CEO who talks about changes in the company’s internal testing procedure for software.
The next big part of Xiaomi’s Android OS is now in the testing phase and will probably be announced in August and will then only find its way to Chinese devices and gradually roll out to global devices also sometime after August.

We do not know anything about MIUI 13 at this time. What changes are coming, what design language it will adopt, etc. But we can make a well-educated guess that all newer Xiaomi devices, at least those from 2019, are eligible for upgrades and that MIUI 13 is likely to be based on Android 11 in the beginning, as Android 12 is still in beta and is expected in the fall.
Xiaomi is reportedly also working on the Mi Mix 4 smartphone, and it is expected to be a flagship of the highest order that matches the Mi 11 Ultra. Xiaomi was able to unveil the Mi Mix 4 along with the MIUI 13 in August. So far, we have heard that the Mi Mix 4 will bring an under-display camera as well as ultra-broadband support.
