Several previous reports revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will bring many great features. Although the Galaxy Z Flip series offers many cutting-edge features such as powerful Snapdragon processors and stunning 120Hz AMOLED screens, it lacks a few things.

One of the missing features is support Samsung DeX , a feature that allows users to turn their Samsung devices into workstations with a desktop-like interface. However, sources indicate that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be Samsung’s smallest DeX-enabled phone.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature DeX support

DeX allows users to display their desktop interface on external displays such as smart TVs or monitors, either wirelessly or through an HDMI adapter. This feature allows input devices such as mice and keyboards to be connected, creating a more productive work environment.

Samsung has also developed a DeX app for Windows and Mac, which allows users to use DeX on their PC by simply connecting their Samsung devices via a USB-C cable. While DeX can be used directly on tablets, smartphones lack the screen property for this.

As for the existing Galaxy Z Flip models, it is still uncertain if they will receive DeX support through a software update once the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is officially launched.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5, along with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5, is expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, which is expected to take place in late July. Both devices will be preloaded with Android 13, One UI 5.1.1 and will be eligible for four major OS upgrades.

In addition, the event is rumored to include announcements of other devices such as the Galaxy Watch 6 series, as well as the introduction of the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra.
