According to research by Omdia, a London-based consultancy that specializes in global coverage of telecommunications, media and technology, the global phone market in the second quarter of 2022 was worse than it was in the second quarter of 2021, and even worse than it was in the first quarter of 2022.
There were large numbers of phones reaching 293.7 million phones shipped all in the months from April to June, but it remains lower than the previous numbers, as compared to the first quarter of this year we find it less by about 14 million (the first quarter recorded 307.7 million phones), Last year, 2021, in its second quarter, recorded about 303.3 million mobile phones.
Samsung numbers and the rest in the second quarter of 2022
Samsung led the market in the second quarter with a total of 62.2 million phones officially shipped, ahead of only 48.9 million phones from Apple, both of which are the top phone manufacturers.
point Sources One of the most important reasons is the strong performance of devices such as the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy S22 series, while on the part of Apple there has been strong brand loyalty and more interest in the iPhone 13 series than its sister iPhone 12 series which led to the decline.
Interestingly, Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, even though all three recorded -20% lower sales compared to last year.
While on the other hand, brands like Motorola (growth by 19.8%) and Tecno (growth by 22.5%) in Q2 2022 were better than last year, but it was Honor that really shone.
Honor shines due to its strong focus on the domestic market, as Honor achieved a 125.4% increase in sales year-on-year, and ranked sixth with more than 15.1 million devices shipped.
