Samsung is working on a 200MP sensor and it is very likely that Xiaomi will be the first to use it. You did not know much about anyone, but now it is delicious Digital Chat Station offers more details about the sensor and the phone itself.

The sensor has a resolution of 192MP and supports 16-in-1 pixel binding, which works for exactly 12MP output resolution. When cropping instead of tying, this sensor must support native 4x zoom. And with many intermediate steps, it should offer high quality digital zoom from 1x to 4x.

Anything that will require a lot of crunching power, which will be provided by the SM8450, the successor to the Snapdragon 888. Tentatively called “Snapdragon 895”, this chip will be fabbed on a 4 nm process and will have the next generation Kryo 780 CPU- cores (based on the new ARMv9 architecture), new Adreno 730 GPU, next generation Spectra 680 GPU and a new X65 5G modem.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (Pro) was the first widely available phone with a 108 MP camera

DCS offered an additional detail about the phone – its screen will have very curved sides and a single hole. We’re guessing that cameras under screen will have to wait a little longer.

So far, it is not even clear which Xiaomi series the phone will belong to. The first 108 MP phone was the experimental Mi Mix Alpha, which was followed by the mass market Mi CC9 Pro, which was launched as the Mi Note 10 (Pro) globally. Of course, they had mid-range Snapdragon 700 series chipsets and not today’s flagship chip.

One thing is clear though, but this phone is not coming out this year – we may see the end of December reveal, and sales in early January, as we did with Mi 11. The timing will likely be dictated by the availability of Chipset.
