According to Apple, iOS 16 is currently running on 81% of all iPhones now. In comparison, nearly 72% of iPhones were running the latest operating system in early 2023. In contrast, about 13% of all devices are currently running iOS 15, while 6% of phones are running unspecified earlier versions. .
Apple provides positive statistics for iOS 16
According to the latest data collected on April 23, 2023, there are more than 1.8 billion active Apple devices around the world. This means that more than 1.458 billion devices are currently running iOS 16.
In the case of iPhones released within the past four years, a total of 90% of all devices are running iOS 16. As of the data collected on June 1, about 8% are running iOS 15, while 2% are running iOS 16. Recently released devices still run older versions.
Apple released iOS 16 in September 2022. Google released Android 13 in the same time frame. To be precise, Android 13 is all set to go live for devices in October 2022. However, only 12.1% of active Android devices are running it.

According to Apple, iPadOS 16 saw much greater adoption among Apple tablets. The latest data shows that 71% of all active iPads are currently running the latest operating system.
Also, when you consider the iPads released in the last four years, 76% of all devices are running iPadOS 16. About 15% of them are running iPadOS 15, while the other 6% are still on an early version of the operating system.

We can say that the adoption of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 is going very well for Apple.
