Our video review of the Realme X7 Max 5G / GT Neo is now up

A short while back, we reviewed Realme’s current top on the smartphone line, the GT, but the company has also created a sort of spin-off in the GT Neo. At least that’s the name in China, because Realme has launched exactly the same device in India as the X7 Max 5G.

It shares most of the features with the GT, except for the chipset, which in this case is the MediaTeks Dimensity 1200, incidentally the chip maker at the top of the line offering right now. We were happy to get the X7 Max 5G through our review process in the office as this is the first smartphone powered by this chipset that we have grabbed.

And now it’s time for our find in our usual cute and concise video format. As always, if you are interested in a deep dive into what makes your phone tick, take a look at our in-depth written review. If you only want the highlights, tap play below and enjoy the ride.

The Realme X7 Max 5G / GT Neo is plastic on the back, not glass like the GT, so there’s a different difference between the two (or three, depending on how you count). There is also Dragontrail glass protection and a slight difference in HDR support, and of course the performance is different due to the new SoC used – check out the video to find out how the X7 Max compares to its sibling as well as other similar units from competing brands.
