Android 12 – Android 12 Will it be the latest update for the expensive Sony Xperia 1 Mark 3?
It looks like the expensive Sony Xperia 1 Mark 3 – Xperia 1 III won’t get much software support. The company’s branch in the Netherlands has revealed that the phone will only get one update for the operating system, which is Android 12 and two years of security support.
The phone was announced a few months ago and got a release date on August 19th at a price of $1299.99. But after this disappointing news, it would be hard to justify putting the phone at such a price.
Sony Xperia 1 Mark 3 Coming with Android 11
The Sony Xperia 1 Mark 3 features a 6.5-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio and 1644 x 3840 resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The quad-lens rear camera, with a 12-megapixel primary lens and 1.7 lens slot, supports OIS optical stabilization, the second 12-megapixel telephoto lens with a 2.3 lens slot, and the third 12-megapixel camera with a very wide angle and 2.2 lens slot, and a TOF 3D sensor. The device offers 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, in addition to the autofocus feature.

It has a 4,500mAh battery and offers 30W wireless charging. It also includes dual front-facing speakers, a headphone jack, IP68 water and dust resistance, and an LED notification indicator. But it does not have a fingerprint sensor under the screen.

Overall, these are some solid specs, but the price tag is pretty high. The 256GB iPhone 12 Pro Max retails for $1,199, while the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with the same storage costs $1,249.

Most of the leading companies like Apple and Samsung provide support for their phones for a longer period. Since launch iPhone 4s In 2011, the flagship iPhone received no fewer than five major iOS updates. Samsung and OnePlus have also committed to three OS updates for their latest major releases, and the upcoming Google Pixel 6 phone will get five Android updates.
