Xiaomi 200W charger with new technology sets a record as the most powerful charger in the world
Xiaomi made headlines when it showcased its 100W wired fast charging technology in 2019, which promised to fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 17 minutes. The following year, OPPO excelled with 125W wired fast charging technology. Now, it looks like Xiaomi has taken the top spot again.
Details of the new Xiaomi 200W charger
Xioami showcased the world’s fastest charging technology with which the company says it is setting a world record for both wired and wireless charging speeds. Says Xioami Its new HyperCharging system can charge a 4000mAh battery in just 8 minutes or in 15 minutes using a wireless charger.
The company showcased a modified Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra that charges via a 200W wired charger. The video has revealed that the phone reaches 10% from 0% in just 44 seconds, and 50% in 3 minutes, with a full charge in less than 8 minutes. Meanwhile, the wireless charging display shows that the phone reaches 10% in 1 minute, 50% in 7 minutes, and 100% in 15 minutes.

The new HyperCharge charging technology isn’t ready for commercial release yet, even Xioami’s current 120W charging technology has only debuted on one device so far, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.

But there are some reservations and fears that this superpower may lead to a severe reduction in battery life in the long run. According to Xiaomi’s preliminary test data, the capacity of a 100W fast charging battery can be about 20% lower than a standard 30W charging battery.
