A new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shares that the new MacBook Pros will be announced in the months of September to November.
The period is extrapolated from the expectation that 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will go into production in Q3. The pair of computers were expected to start earlier, but were delayed due to miniLED display complications.
These complications were reportedly sorted with the new miniLED supplier Osram Opto Semiconductors.
Still, mass production of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to be delayed, so the machines may not be widely available for purchase before early 2022.
The new Pros have a completely new design, miniLED screens, a powerful new M1X chip with up to 10 cores (8 large and 2 efficient cores), up from M1’s 4 + 4 core design and an increase in GPU cores , at least 16, possibly even 32.
