Another milestone is in books for Xiaomi, as the company led all smartphone vendors in terms of sales volumes for June, surpassing rivals Samsung and Apple. According to Counter-research, Xiaomi managed a 17.1% holding of all smartphone sales in June, exceeding both Samsung’s 15.7% share and Apple’s 14.3% share. Nearly ten years since it launched its first smartphone, Xiaomi is said to have topped 800 million smartphone shipping brands.

Counterpoint Tarun Pathak further clarified that Xiaomi was doing quite well across Europe, China and India as smartphone demand in these markets was normalized. Xiaomi was also China’s fastest growing OEM thanks to its Redmi 9, Note 9 series and Redmi K series phones. On the other hand, Samsung is facing production problems in Vietnam which have negatively affected its shipment numbers.
