It’s been a tough year for the whole world, and smart gadgets are not something you buy in times of crisis. The production of the iPhone was not so much affected by the pandemic, and we still saw the premiere of the iPhone 12 generation in October last year. It was safe, but also very conservative and … unoriginal, if you will. But it’s been a while since we’ve seen big technological leaps, so a new design and 5G connection will have to be made.
The iPhone 12 is another glass phone with an OLED screen, a pair of cameras and fast hardware. In fact, the 1080p OLED screen is probably the most attractive feature of the iPhone 12 (and 12 mini), a very welcome upgrade over the iPhone 11s 720p LCD.
But when a company can not offer noticeable improvements over the previous generation and knows it very well, what happens then? Well, a redesign of course, and if done right – voila – we have a winner.
First, we want to thank Apple for not naming its latest phones iPhone 12 5G, iPhone 12 mini 5G, etc. We understand why manufacturers want to emphasize 5G capacity, but come on – it’s not the big deal companies trying to do it , not just yet anyway.
Well, even though it’s not a huge technological leap, and despite the ongoing pandemic, the iPhone 12 series received a very warm welcome. In particular, the new iPhone 12 was sold out for some time, and for good reason – it has most of the Series 12’s new features at a reasonable price. It has the new OLED, a good selection of cameras, a flagship kit, the new nostalgic design and, yes, 5G.
Unfortunately, we saw a serious reduction in the retail package – the charger and headphones are gone. And if you thought this would not spread in the Android market, Samsung and Xiaomi – its biggest players – are already making the same moves.
So it has been four months since this reviewer had replaced his iPhone 11 Pro Max with the iPhone 12, and we can now get a thorough look at whether the generation’s leap was worth it and whether we made the right purchase by choosing this particular model . Yes or no? This is iPhone 12 lengthy review.
