Apple’s A-series processors have been using 5nm manufacturing accuracy for the past two years, and the iPhone 13 phones recently came with an A15 Bionic processor with TSMC N5P manufacturing accuracy, an improved version of the 5nm technology.

It is expected that the A16 Bionic processor will be used in the upcoming iPhone 14 phones, with a manufacturing accuracy of 3 nanometers. However, the latest reports confirmed that this technology is not quite ready as the Taiwanese company TSMC is making every effort with the 3 nm manufacturing process, which means Apple may have to continue with the same manufacturing technology for the third year. This is the first time Apple has used a processor from the same manufacturing process for three consecutive years.

Apple A16 Bionic processor with 3 nm manufacturing accuracy may be launched on this date!

According to TSMC, the 3 nanometer manufacturing precision known as N3″ will enter trial production this year. However, it will enter mass production in the second half of 2022 and actual revenue will be obtained in the first quarter of 2023.

If mass production begins in the second half of 2022, Apple may have a chance to get the 3-nm manufacturing precision in the Apple A16 Bionic processor.

The media also noted that Apple’s “staying in place” also means that there is an opportunity for competitors to outpace it in this area. However, Apple will adopt 3 nm manufacturing accuracy before Qualcomm. It is noteworthy that Apple contributed a quarter of TSMC’s revenue last year.

indicated Reports A precedent suggests that Apple last year pressured TSMC to supply more A14 processors for the iPhone 12 without increasing the overall contract price.

Of course, this information is still just leaks, as TSMC revealed in the middle of last month that the manufacturing accuracy of 3 nanometers, known as “N3”, will be a risky trial production this year.
