Samsung officially starts rolling out One UI 4 with Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 family

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has been testing the update for One UI 4 based on Android 12 publicly on members of their Galaxy S21 flagship smartphone family, and today is finally the day you have all been waiting for. The company has announced that it is officially rolling out the One UI 4 for the Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra. This comes hours after an unintentionally released rollout plan first revealed that these handsets would get the update this month.

As usual with such things, while rollout starts today, you can expect it to take a few weeks to reach every single unit out there. But wait, there’s more. There is also a new update on the way for Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 wearables that will allow “users to enjoy improved health features and new dials”.

Samsung does not go into more detail than that, so it is unclear exactly where the One UI 4 update should be rolled out first. Our money would be in the company’s home country Korea, but we’ll have to wait and see. Reports from users should arrive within hours, we assume.

One UI 4 comes with innovative widgets, a wealth of new color palettes, a wider range of emoji features, and more GIFs and stickers available from the keyboard. The new software version will alert you when an app tries to use your camera or microphone, and it includes a new privacy dashboard that puts all of these settings in one convenient place.
