The announcement of a preview of Android 12L came as a surprise to everyone, although it was reported that Google is working on a version of “Android 12.1” very early, but it was not entirely clear if this version will focus on devices Tablets, foldable devices, and other large screens.

Shows new report Android 12L is focused on big screens, and Google is making it easier for developers to dynamically modify their apps when they can work with more apps on offer.
The new update introduces automated layouts, self-adjusting font sizes, and a neat API for two-pane displays that apps can easily take advantage of.
You can already see these improvements in the preview version of the system, where many of Google’s own apps give users a glimpse of what we can expect from developers, in addition, Gmail, Messages, the Google app, and Files come with features optimized for large screens.
While Google likely won’t release its own foldable screen, there are also improvements to the lock screen, notification shade, home screen, recents overview, and other system widgets.
Google has also added several basic behavioral changes. Android 12L introduces broader support for multi-window mode, system-wide options to override apps’ preferred orientations, and a so-called Activity embed for two-pane browsing. This will allow apps to hand you over to different parts of other apps, for example When you are taken from System Settings to the Google app for account-specific options.

The release adds several other smaller quality-of-life changes for both big screen and small screen experiences, for example, Google is experimenting with the option to keep and pull pop-up notifications to create a split-screen view on the go.
It also adds dynamic colors although Pixels phones have already received this as part of Android 12, making it easy for all manufacturers to take advantage of. This includes options for using the textures you want on the phone’s screen.
Android 12 will launch sometime early next year, and beta versions are set to become available on Pixel phones and select other devices in December.
While it’s unlikely that Google will ever release a foldable device of its own, the core Android APIs and tweaks should make it easier for manufacturers and other app developers to create convenient experiences on big screens from now on.
