Weekly poll results: Poco M4 Pro 5G’s success is contingent on a lower price
The Poco fan base is price sensitive – the € 50 price increase on the Poco M4 Pro 5G was not a popular feature among voters in last week’s poll. Sure, the phone brings some upgrades compared to the 6-month-old model it replaces, but the Poco M-Series should not fly above its allotted price range.
M4 Pro did, and it clashed with the Poco X3 Pro, where the X-Series is taller than M. This is not the first time that a company’s rich (or crowded) product range has caused internal conflicts like this.
Looking at the poll and comments, the phone received only 20% positive voice, which grows to just over 50% with the following condition – Poco M4 Pro must be purchased at early prices, which are 30 € lower than regular prices, which mostly cancels the price increase .
So there is hope yet, the popularity of the phone will increase when prices start to fall. The Poco X3 Pro started at € 250 back in March, but can be found closer to € 200 these days.
Although success is not out of reach, some issues arose with the Poco M4 Pro, which was not about the price. For example, switching to a Dimensity 810 (from Dimensity 700) is not a major performance upgrade.
There were also questions about the new 50 MP sensor in the main camera, which replaced the 48 MP 1 / 2.0 ”sensor from the previous model. Well, we’ve finished our review of the M4 Pro, so take a look at it for a picture quality review and other questions about the phone’s performance.
