Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra rumored to feature a 200MP camera

Samsung is expected to launch a 200MP smartphone camera this year, and next year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra may be the first device to get it. This is according to the Chinese website IT Home quoting Weibo posts from popular leakers Ice Universe and Digital Chat Station.
ONE The March teaser from Samsung’s chip manufacturing arm actually suggests that a 200MP sensor will debut sometime soon. As was the case with the South Korean giant’s first 108MP sensor, Xiaomi is expected to launch a phone with a 200MP camera before Samsung.

In February, the Korean company announced 50MP ISOCELL GN2 sensor with 1.4 μm pixels. Before that, a new iteration of the 108MP sensor was announced in January. It has 0.8 pixelsm pixels. Larger pixels are theoretically capable of gathering more information. Samsung uses pixels-binding technology for collecting more light in low light environments.

It is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 200MP sensor has 0.64 pixelsm pixels. An earlier report had said the company was reconsider its camera strategy, presumably because high megapixel cameras have not marked much. That said, Galaxy S21 Ultra’s 108MP HM3 device is a significant improvement over the previous generation, and this has made it one of the best smartphones for photography.

Rumors about Galaxy S22 Ultra

The Galaxy S22 series is not expected soon and much may change now and its rumored Q1 2022 launch date. According to a recent report Galaxy S22 series phones are probably not with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, which is not surprising given that it was also omitted by the Note 20 and Galaxy S21. The technology does not seem to serve a meaningful purpose at the moment.

Today’s report also seems to suggest that the Galaxy S22 is coming along Olympus brand sensors. Samsung reportedly entered into a partnership with the Japanese camera company recently. The next flagship in the S-Series will probably also have a selfie camera under the panel, and they can also flaunt a AMD-based Exynos chipset.
