Xiaomi has the Mi Mix Fold in its portfolio, and now it plans to add another foldable with a clamshell design. The company patented a device at CNIPA (Chinese National Intellectual Property Association) with a design similar to a particular Samsung phone – two cameras and a small horizontal display on the cover.
This new flip phone will also have a pill-shaped hole on the inside for dual front-facing cameras. The bottom is occupied by the SIM slot, a USB-C and a speaker grill, while the on / off key and the volume button are on the right side.

It’s no surprise that Xiaomi is also joining in on the fun of folding – Motorola, Huawei and Samsung already have products in this category, and this Chinese brand also wants some of the pie. We think a phone with this design may come soon, but we are also convinced that it will not be for the Xiaomi event later today, where we expect to see the 12 Series, MIUI 13 and Watch S1.
