Okay, I admit: at first I was a little put off by radical new Pixel 6 renders. In fact, this piece originally bore a polar opposite title that casts a rather pessimistic light on the leaked one Pixel
6/6 Pro design. But now, after considering things a bit, I’m totally convinced that Google could knock it out of the park with this one and have come around to loving the design language.
Admittedly, the true Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro look somewhat close to the visualizations we’ve seen, Google’s next flagships will both stand out from the competition, pay tribute to some of their predecessors, and finally reverse the bad aftertaste of some of the recent Pixel 6s. releases.
In a world of mostly similar flagships with big camera bumps sticking out, the Pixel 6/6 Pro has the potential to turn heads with its interesting design. The rectangular, edge
-to-edge camera module protrudes both literally and figuratively, while the exciting three-tone design on the back plate brings back memories of the panda-colored Pixel 2
series, which in my opinion was one of the best designed pixels. Do not let the big bump scare you – I like that it is symmetrical and will remove wobble, and in the context of huge camera islands, this does not look too scary at all in my humble opinion. Not when we have monstrous like Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra roaming in the country.
What’s more, the overall design looks a lot like Google Nexus 6P, the latest generation of Nexus devices before the launch of Pixel. It’s a good recall to the roots of Google’s phone lineups and will certainly appeal to tech enthusiasts who are partial to the classic Pixel look. But not only them – ordinary Joes would probably also find the design friendly and appealing. So it is a win-win situation that says goodbye to the forgetful design of Pixel 4
and Pixel 5
Finally, the exterior design of the Pixels looks quite appropriate Android 12’s overall look. As a reminder, one of the new things coming to Google’s operating system is an updated look that will tone the entire interface according to the wallpaper set by the user. Such a fast theme feature has so far not been present from Android and will be good with the friendly looks of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
All in all, these renderings look hot, and although I understand why some of you might not like the design at first, take a step back, take a look, and you might get around. Like I did.
However, we should not forget that we are only talking about rumors and reproducing here, and despite the endorsement of several leaks and insiders, these will remain leaks and rumors until Google decides to unpack the next devices officially. As much as I would love for Google to release pixels that look 100% like the renderings pictured above, there is no way to tell if everything will be the same. There is a possibility we could hear about the new pixels coming Google I / O next week, though the devices are more likely to be unveiled later this year. What is more likely to be seen Pixel 5a will be unveiled next week. Somehow you have to check everything we know about Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in our dedicated phone hub here.
