Your smartphone or tablet is the most personal device you own. He’s always with you and is able to hear everything you say and see what you’re doing, but what if you want to turn off these sensors to protect your privacy and prevent your phone from being spied on or hacked?
Android offers a quick toggle to disable location tracking and cellular connectivity, but there’s no direct option to turn off the rest of your phone’s sensors like the camera or microphone. Fortunately, Android and specifically Samsung phones and devices have a hidden setting that allows you to turn off all sensors on your phone with a single tap.
First, you have to enable Developer Options, which is a set of additional tools that Google primarily collects for Android app makers. There is nothing to worry about as this is completely allowed and will not void your phone’s warranty. Google, in its documentation, also states that this feature, in addition to helping developers, “also gives users a way to control the sensors in their devices.”
To enable developer options, launch the Settings app on your Android phone, scroll down to the bottom of the list, and open the About phone section.
Next, select an option called “Build number.” will find owners Samsung Galaxy option under the “Program information” section. Tap it repeatedly until your smartphone asks you for your lock screen PIN, pattern, or password. Enter your PIN, pattern or password, and you will receive a message: “You are now a developer!”
Now, go back to the main settings page and go to System > Developer options. Samsung owners will find Developer Options at the bottom of the Settings menu.
How to turn off the camera and mic in Samsung phones to protect against hacking and spying?
Just, open the “Developer options” in the Settings app screen on your phone, and then scroll down a bit and tap on the “Quick setup developer windows” option as shown in the screenshot below.
In this step, you only need to activate and turn on the “sensors off” option as in Snapshot The screen below to lock the mic and camera and protect yourself from spying and hacking.
Now try, if you try to turn on your phone’s camera, you will immediately see a message that says “The security policy prohibits the use of the camera.”
You will then be required to turn “sensors off” until able Than to use the camera again.
