Today, Samsung has released the update for Android 12 with One UI 4 on top for yet another mid-range phone in its incredibly varied list. We are talking about the Galaxy A42, which is starting to receive the new software in Europe.
The roll-out seems to have begun in Poland, but it should undoubtedly be extended rapidly to other European countries before it becomes global. The new firmware build version is branded A426BXXU3CUL9, and the update includes the security fixes from December 2021, which is a shame because we are already in January 2022. However, we can not be too harsh about this as many of Samsung’s competitors do not. Do not even keep their flagships always at the current security patch level, puddle with random middle rangers.
If you own a Galaxy A42 from Poland or elsewhere in Europe and want to check if you might be lucky, go to Settings> Software Update and tap Download and Install. See what happens. That said, like all releases, this is also likely to be staged so it may take a few days or weeks before it even reaches all devices in Poland. Hopefully it will spread faster than later.
